99th Percentile GMAT Preparation
My GMAT results:
GMAT Preparation Verbal:
Before the exam on 10/18/2004, I read The Princeton Review GMAT Verbal Workout.
Before the GMAT test on 11/30/2004, I read Appendix I and Appendix III of The Princeton Review GMAT Verbal Workout book. Appendix I goes over grammar and Appendix III goes over idioms. I made index cards of all 154 idioms from Appendix III of The Princeton Review GMAT Verbal Workout book and practiced making sentences with my cousins.
GMAT Preparation Quantitative:
Before the exam on 10/18/2004, I did every math problem in the The Official Guide for GMAT Review, 10th edition. I did half of the math problems in Kaplan’s GMAT 800 book 2004-2005 edition .
I did a few practice problems from GMAT 800 and watched the presidential debate the night before the exam. I didn’t sleep well the night before the exam.
GMAT Preparation AWA
I think you will do well. It is just a matter of practice and timing. For the analytical writing section, read the NY Times and the Wall Street Journal, especially the editorials, to improve your ability to come up with examples and counter examples.
The dramatic improvement in my scores was due to taking practice tests and being more comfortable with GMAT timing and administration.
